It is a beauty. What does the switch do?

The red one left my collection but I still have the blue one. It is a great bass.
It's a series/parallel switch the previous owner installed.Like you I had a '92 Foundation but once I bought the '86 the '92 was sold on. I love the whole look of the 80's Peavey Bass range.
20180330_165521 (3).jpg The only picture I have of both my Foundations 86 & 92

I too really like black basses, and in particular the look of a fully black Foundation with rosewood. I had a 85 Foundation fretless with that color scheme. My 87 Dyna is fully murdered out: despite it being a little redundant, I can't get rid of it--it's got all the goodness of a Foundation with the benefits of active EQ. My 84 Foundation has an all maple neck: if that bass wasn't so darn perfect feeling, playing, sounding and so stable, I would replace that bass with one that is all black and rosewood. However, you just don't mess with a good thing, chasin' waterfalls, as TLC taught me. lol

Very true bigtone I used to look at the pictures of your 2 Foundations when I had my 92 Foundation, hoping that I could find a Black & Maple version like yours. Though the fretless look with the Rosewood fingerboard does give it a stealthier look &, I do like the look of your Dyna Bass the black bridge & tuners are a nice touch. I'm still on the lookout for those metal Peavey knobs but they are the only thing, I would change on my Foundation the quality and fit & finish on these basses still puts other brands to shame.

What tuners and bridge did you go with to black out your Dyna? Do you have a pic of the back of the head-stock? Curious minds want to know.
thanks :hyper:
