Ugh, what a week...

Well, last Tuesday I got my tonsils out and the couple days after I was fine, but after that, I feel like Ive been hit by a train. Ive been doped up on oxycodone, still in tons of pain, unable to sleep and to cap it all off, I just got back from the emergency room because I hemorrhaged and started bleeding out a lot of blood.

This week better be better than the last...

:hmm:

Ouch. My empathies, buddy. It's been a pretty crappy week here, too... but in different ways.

I remember how much it sucked when I had my tonsils out, but it gets worse with age... so it must really blow at your age.

Eat lots of ice cream. Good luck, bro!

Thanks for the kind words guys.

I can't wait until my tonsils need to come out, since my early teen years they have been bigger than normal but not sore, and food pieces get stuck to them and rot, so my breath smells bad a lot no matter how much brushing, flossing, scraping, mouthwashing, etc I do...

Thats exactly what was happening with mine, except mine were getting infected regularly. Not bad, but just enough to get annoying after a few years. Right now Id be inclined to tell you to get it done as soon as possible, because I know its supposed to get worse with age. So I wouldnt wait too long to get it done if youre gonna.

Hmm, can I ask to get them out? I live in Canada, so it's not like I pay for it. They may only do it if they HAVE to do it I think.

Hopefully you don't have to take that drug for too long. I've seen people get addicted to it

Because Im taking so much of it, I was put on a variant of it that isnt nearly as addicting, so I think Im ok with it.

Id talk to an ear, nose and throat doctor and see what he thinks. Thats what I did.

I got mine out a couple of years ago at age 34. It does, indeed, suck.

You'll feel great in a few weeks and forget all about the pain you went through. Just keep looking forward to no more sore throats. It cured my snoring and sleep apnea, too!

I've been "on" forever now. Exhausted. Completely. I'm taking little cat naps between people walking by my office. 100% worthless today at work.

All last weekend was the Texas Madfest and busted my butt running the stage, terrible sleep and terribly uncomfortable waits in airports. Then four straight days of full-afternoon rehearsals with bands #1 and #3, then hauling gear all weekend for our annual block party. Yesterday after getting everything back into my basement, it was basic system shutdown. Hurt to walk. One more weekend to go...

Funny you should mention that. I got mine out at 15 and hemorrhaged, lost 3L of blood.

Dang, I dont think I lost quite that much, Id say I lost half a liter at most, but it was still quite scarey seeing all of this bright red blood just pouring out of my mouth.

Middy - Thats one thing Im hoping will be a "side effect." I snore something awful and they took my adenoids out too in hopes that itll help with that.

Thanks again guys. Getting on TB and watching Tv is about the only things left that I can do that Im not scared of making myself bleed again.
