That bass should have warning stickers. Someone could get seriously hurt trying to play it.

Hey, CoolHat from Helsinki, didn't I see that monster being played by the Finnish entry for Eurovision this year? Would have fitted right in. And yes, I DID vote for them - most original, entertaining and downright hilarious thing all night.

All you American TBers will be wondering what on earth I'm talking about now. No difference there, then! :D

i got you all beat!!!

ha ha

what the hell is that thing!?!

Casting my vote for the Parker, and the hideously bulbous Waterstone semi's.

Granted, that Guild 'duckfoot' is homely....I've always been strangely attracted to them, tho. Peter Tork?

The guitard version had a nifty flip-out stand built into the back of the body. How thoughtful. LOL

......I was looking at basses on E'bay once and saw a black Squier Jazz with the skull and crossbones. For an extra special manly effect there were little white swimming sperms painted all over the body.
Very tasteful alright.

Heh, the whole country has been overwhelmed by Lordi mania after the win... but yeah, that bass would have been very appropriate. I don´t know what their bassist plays, but the guitarist has a custom guitar with some Laplandic witch symbols, made by a Finnish luthier.

It´s a funny band alright, I actually happen to know the lead singer, he´s getting married with my friend´s sister in august. Nice thing about the whole Lordi phenomenon is that it´s not some kind of calculated corporate project, made up by some record exec and bunch of image consultants. No, these guys have been doing their thing for over 10 years and it´s 100% their own thing: masks, dresses, pyros, the music - they´ve created it all by themselves. I think it´s great that a real band like that can still be succesful in the midst of all these hand puppet "idols"...

Sorry for the OT. Continue with the ugly basses.

From the Ovation House of Horrors..

Disclaimer: This bass is not mine. This is the practice bass at my band's rehearsal studio.

This bass is not only ugly, it is old. And evil. And heavy.

And so are the strings. And so am I.

Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair:

ha, I don't know what I was thinking when I made my parents buy me my Kramer XL24 back in '81. Even when I added the Kahler in the later 80's it still was quite ugly. Needless to say I still have it...

There's a memory!
I had a black XL8 8 string bass.(like a 12 string guitar)
I hated that POS.
