ultimate pbass pickups?

Right so I went to guitar center and got a special edition MIM p bass for 190! Now it is my quest to make the ultimate recording bass. Im gonna start on the pickups and work from there. Which pickups should I look at for beastly sounds? I do funk blues and alt rock

I'm really happy with my HAS Sound Mojo P bass pickup, I've never been a huge P fan, but I just used one of Stan's pups in my parts P bass project and I'm a huge fan now!

Lindy Fralin for that aggressive, old-school rock tone. Think Anything from John Entwhistle to Motown.

Great pickups. I have one in my Fender Zone. It has a Bart preamp, but I use it in passive mode and it sounds amazing. After a party gig Saturday night we let another band play a few songs with our gear and I got a chance to hear it from the audience for the first time. Now I don't want to play any of my other basses. Truly great sounding.

I'm looking for P bass pickups myself and was leaning toward either that dual blade DiMarzio or an EMG active P- anybody recommend either of those?

What's with the "maybe?" Fralin, baby, Fralin! It records exceptionally well, and has some aggressive grit to go with the vintage vibe.
