Un-Identified Ibanez Bass...

Sorry for the wacky pic...:hmm: It is me at 19 in my first bachelor pad in 1987 doing who knows what...

Anyhow, came across this pic and have fond memories of this bass.

I believe it was an Ibanez Roadstar. It had black binding and squared edges...the bass was almost a Ric clone.

I have not seen another like it and for the life of me don't remember anything about it except the straplock pulled out mid song at the Akron Agora, the bass smashed my toe and the headstock broke when it hit the stage...I then proceeded to smash it like an idiot.

Anyone have any info on this beast as I would like to find another...the tone was awesome!

Thanks

I believe I had the same model but in silver with black bindings. I also thought it was more closer to a Rickenbacker 4000 series but with a narrower body. Had a P/J pickup combination. I wish I still had it and have never found one like it on Ebay. I bought it new in '86 and liked it simply because it matched my then new Mustang GT.
