sounds great, brad!

but hate to keep harpin' on ya, most bass cabs are 20-23" wide. i've seen a few so called boutique heads that looked pretty fugly hangin' over the sides of their ampeg 8x10's. :rollno:

but other than that, HOO DADDY, cant wait to hear it. :hyper:

now, if only i can gain 30 lbs. of muscle, so i can comfortably gig w/ both my Sadowsky SA200, and brad's amp. :D :p

Don't worry, it'll be about 23" wide. Certainly shorter if possible. :D

Also, I'll being doing the Tube Driven and Tube Recovered FX loop. By doing it this way, you can use Pedals (-20dB) and Rack Mount FX (0dB). You can also select between series or parallel operation when using the FX loop.

There will be a send and return level adjust for use with ALL external processors and pedals.

Sound cool? ;)

Major kudos for this feature. I personally really appreciate something like this, as I have a range of both pedal and rack effect units.

Very nice.

Tom.

Did you pick up an SA200!?! Nice! :bassist:

my @#(*&%@$ cable provider has kept me away from the thread too long!!

Sounds like everything is shaping up GREAT!! This will be the absolute first all tube amp i buy, no doubt. I was gonna go with the SA200 first, but i feel a little more connected to this one being that TB had input in its design.

And since the rack mount is out o'the question, have you decided on the side handles? I'm sure i'll have no prob getting it on top of my NV215 at the start of a show, but later on i don't think it'll be so easy without two handles. I use handles more for the breakdown than the set-up in almost every situation really. (plus i'm only 5'8 so the top handle wont allow much leverage for lifting when it's elevated 3+ feet in air :D )

23" wide sounds great... will fit right on top of my Schroeder(s).

Now.. as for the early serial number.... when this baby comes out.. don't forget us faithful minions that shared our desires with you... discounts, and or free flight case with purchase make great "thank you" gifts!!! ;)

Even though I am extrememly happy with my current amp situation.. this is certainly shaping up to be a very intriguing unit. :bassist:

With as much effort and honest care brad is putting into this, i wouldn't be suprised if it quickly became a rival (maybe superior!?) to the SA200. I never thought i'd say this, but i'm almost looking forward to getting this amp more than my NX6s, Valentis, and Cabs combined!! :bassist:

Though i still want all of them really badly too :crying:

I'll look into the handle idea. I do want to maintain the same visual identity that I've developed in my other amps, but you're right, this amp may need it. When I get the completed chassis and cabinets in, I'll test them out and make the decision there.

Also Fretless5verfan, if you order one, I can certainly custom make yours to have two handles. That's not a problem at all.

I probably won't buy a $3000 amp any time soon, but here are my opinions anyway! :)

- Hooray for 300W, it's my gigging minimum
- Consider making just the power section, at 400W, lots of us already have preamps we love
- For amps that do include a pre, put in a MASTER BYPASS EVERYTHING switch
- My ART Tube Channel pre has 2 fx loops at different points in the chain, I appreciate being able to try an effect in different spots (including before and after the pre that's 4 options!) so I can pick the best.
- Pre/Post Swithchable DI out on the front panel
- Footswitchable boost, eq, loops, etc. are cool -- midi control is not a requirement for me but somebody somewhere would appreciate it
- Your cases really are beautiful, but is there absolutely no way to build one of them around an amp that will also fit a 19" rack? At 300W your market is gigging bassists, and many of us have already committed to a nice rack compressor and maybe some rack effects so we'd want it all in one case to simplify transport and to keep everything wired together.

I'll try to think of more, hope this helps!

This is a totally off the wall question, but for the sake of planning and ordering parts, how many of you guys think you might be interested in this 300W All Tube Bass Amp?

Saying you would like to buy one is not a commitment, it just helps me know how to plan better.

Thanks!

It probably comes as no surprise that I would be interested. :D

i'd just have at least 50 on hand, to make as parting gifts for those who replied to this thread. :)

but i'd be down.

tom, you so rock.

i can do without the middle handle, but those side handles are actually kinda cool looking. wish more amps had that.

You know, I thought the same thing at first, but when trying to negotiate through narrow spaces (like between cars in my garage), I do like the single handle. Of course, you aren't going to carry a heavy tube amp all that far by just one handle!

Tom.

+infinity :smug:

I know no one saw this comming from me ( :p ), but will there be a black model (possibly ebony)? I think a black model with that maple "V" and those top handles would be....indescribably badass for the lack of a better phrase :D

I've got a whole stealth motif going with my rig and basses that's why i ask. Though if i had to break the unity for one piece of gear, i wouldn't lose any sleep over it for this amp.
