Under the bed 1970 P bass ..........

..... is now mine !:hyper: I have had my eye on it for awhile. Comes from the original owner. Sunburst with rwood board-alder body.Really light. All 100% original and unmolested. Probably about as mint as you can get - no signs of wear - just a few small dings on the body edge. Original case. Local older guy - says he bought it new but hardly ever used it. My friend knows him and has known about the bass for years. Blacklights perfectly. Even has the huge leather strap that he bought with it-which isn't even worn in yet. Even the tuners are tight to adjust. I have been waiting awhile for something like this to come along and I'm really pleased.

Hey guys, you wouldn't believe what I just found...

I was poking around at my neighbor's house and I checked under the bed, and lo-and-behold, a 1962 stacked knob Jazz bass! In custom charcoal metallic grey, complete with hang tags, strap, brown tolex case, the works!

It was a bit of a pain to get it out from under the bed, as it was underneath a tweed case with a stock mint 1951 blonde Precision...that I took home too!

Sorry I don't have any pics...you'll have to take it on faith.

Oh, yeah. That happened to me once, but I had to first discard the 1959 Les Paul Standard that was in the way. (It was a guitar -- who needs that?)

I believe this story. The guy is in Peterbourough Ontario. The original owner bought the bass, then bought a case of Labbat Blue and went fishing. There are so many good fishing spots up there last time I went and caught so many fish, may hands were too raw to do anything but drink cold beer from cleaning 300 fish a day! Seriously..

Anyway nice score! Hope Rice Lake is still a good fishing hole, and the Trent is still pumping out the pikerals and muskies.

I remember the day this happened to me, my 61 precision was wedged in a grandfather clock dated 1750. I hacked that into pieces to get the bass out, did I mention the grandfather clock was inside the Ark of the Covenant, I used a sledge hammer.........





OK actually I just want to see your bass, fun thread.:hyper:
