We came up with this idea substance free, thank you very much.
And its not the build of the bass that concerns me. I could do it with something other than wood, build it naked (no controls), passive, and seal the output jack, but if it wouldn't work, I don't think I'll waste the time and money to try it. It would be awesome though.
And as to the skydiving thing, that would be cool, but you wouldn't get but a fraction of the way through a song. A typical dive lasts 30-60 seconds.
Well, it would certainly negate the need for a deep chorus effect...
