Has anyone purchased this $130.00 Underwood cable?
Can someone explain why it might cost $130.00???
Thanks!

If your ears can detect the difference then they're more sensitive than multi-thousand-dollar analytical instruments.

Read up on what Bob Pease had to say about the "golden ears" and all the special power cords, speaker cords, interconnects, etc., 99.99999999% of which is total arrant bullsh$$$.

Coiled cords are prone to fatigue failure, that's why people don't use them much any more. But if the connections on each end are sound, no one can actually tell a difference. Show me the data from an actual double blind test that say differently and I'll pay attention. I can guarantee you no such data exist.

Don,
P.T. Barnum had a saying for this. I have several nice Azola cables that I purchased years ago, because they can be repaired. :) or have a lifetime replacement warranty. If there’s a difference in the way they sound it’s subtile at best. If you want to see real cable obsessed audiophiles take a look
at the Audio Advisors catalog. Those folks make the Underwood cable look like posers. :D:laugh:

I really like Hank at Rattlesnake Cables he makes cables with nice colored sleeves makes no pretense about them sounding any different and would probably look into offering an attenuated cord if you asked him. He gets a little nuts with offering sales every two days on pink cords and whatnot but they are made really well and look great. He made me a right angle 1.5 foot XLR so I could plug my V8 inusing the transformer, he had to order the right angle XLR special but didnt charge any more then Hosa would for something much cheaper. Highly recommended

My favourite was an audiophile ethernet cable. It was reviewed by somebody who swore blind he could hear the difference between which side of the consumer-grade switch it was connected, between his Macbook and his HiFi system.
He got remarkably angry when people started bandying about terms like "double-blind," too, never mind all the technical reasons it was bunk.
Edit: I think it was the one in this article.

Makes me wonder whether people have started selling USB-connected outboard ethernet interfaces for laptops. To avoid the internal system noise, you see, like the reason we have outboard audio interfaces...
