He's a great guy, I'm sure he'd be willing to so a simpler design. I can't speak for him myself. But I really don't think he's the kind of guy that would say unequivocally NO. Email him, I believe it's [email protected] as it reads on his website. Shame that his stuff isn't more popular in my opinion he could be selling a lot of basses at his prices.

I'm not trying to get into an opinion-war over the opinion that I have regarding the aesthetic appearance of the bass here. I believe it looks better than a lot of the basses out there. I used superior to just describe it being at a higher rank among the many basses out there in my opinion.


Everyone, just take it easy! You don't have to agree with me, if you do more the merrier, if not, I'm glad you don't! If everyone liked the same thing it'd be hell on earth!!:D

I'm not trying to get into an opinion-war either, but when you say "superior" I expect you're comparing it to something else, which is something you didn't do in your original post.

I'm sorry Allexcosta, I took it the wrong way. I just meant superior to the many Fender Jazz-type basses I've tried, Warwicks too. I've played a number of Musicman's and vintage Fender's too. I love the Musicman's, Warwicks and Fender's to death, but this bass just personally did something for me tonally and the whole package. I should've specified. Sorry for coming off as a jerk. Hadn't eaten breakfast yet, my wrong-doing of course :D .

Ok, easy boys, easy. Just take a step back (just in case you stand up when you're at the compooter) , or a roll back if you sit in a wheely chair, and take a couple of deep breaths come back, then just remember we are all brothers in bass, no need to fight among ourselves, right? Again, i'm glad if you agree, glad if you don't everyone has their sweet spots. Mine was hit, if yours wasn't, no biggy!!! Thanks for stoppin by and giving his basses a looksy! I just did this for informational purposes for more people to know his work. I haven't actually bought the Birdseye 32" yet, but I'm considering it after playing it for about an hour. I'm selling off my full stack that's in on my flickr(links posted toward beginning) and trying to scale down amp-wise and I'm just not sure if I should be worrying about an amp first or the bass! I have a Fender that plays nice and a little 75-watt combo that could probably do the 2 gigs I have August 5th and 6th, since one is busking downtown, and the other is a small church gig I think. So I don't know whether to hold off on the bass and get the amp first since I already have a bass, but I'm lacking in the amp dept. But I'm in love with the bass!!!

Torn between two worlds!! Sorry to deviate a little from my OP, but that's what I'm feeling right now :D

Tkchulu, hey how are you doing. I believe it's 29 frets, strangely enough. I've never heard of that amount of frets on a bass before, but it really works haha. The guy demo'd it in front of me before I played (just because he was more familiar with the spacing on frets than I am) because I play a Fender Jazz usually, and I really like the amount of frets incorporated into the bass!!

slapmachine, nice write up, thanks!!!! It was very nice meeting you and I'm glad you were able to find that sweet spot with one of my basses. I also appreciate everyone's thoughts on my workmanship, good or bad. cant please everyone. I know everyone will have their opinion or preference of bass they use...I don't take offense to it if they don't like mine. I take pride in the instruments I build, because alot of work does go into these.

hrodbert696, I've been wondering if it gets any playtime hanging in the store. I'm glad you got a chance to try it out. I may be pulling it out of the store if it doesn't sell soon, but please get in-touch if you want to buy it.

Also I saw another question about a simpler design, I'm a reasonable guy I'll make what ever shape you want. LOL
