Hello all, I would like to clarify a few things. Jtbasses.com has changed to Link Removed and still hasnt beem updated in awhile. I also would like to say that all the basses I have made so far have been my personal basses and I'm partial to scroll basses. I'll make whatever shape you desire. I did manage to slim down the headstock design a bit but that's not even set in stone. This is all a matter of creativeness and is just a hobby of mine. That Is also why my prices are not as expensive as other customs. I don't look at this as a job, but more of a way to spend my time with something I enjoy. Again I appreciate all the comments and criticisms. I take everything with a grain of salt, but take pride in my workmanship. Ill include pics of my most recent bass and the workshop where their made.

OK, I've committed. I'm in Kansas City on a work project, met up with John Sunday night, and decided to go ahead and buy the 35" five-string he had on the site: I'd love to order one custom but frankly, I can'[t afford it yet and this bass is exactly what I wanted anyway. Paid my deposit yesterday, he's letting me use it for the week - some of the folks I'm working with are putting together a combo for our final night festivities - and then he'll take it back and ship it. This bass is great! Amazing balance, LIGHT (I'm not a back pain sufferer but with this instrument, I never will be), great warm tone. Everyone's raving about how it looks, too. Pics when I get it at home, don't have a camera here. And, by the way, John is the greatest guy to deal with.

hrodbert696, it was a real pleasure meeting you and I'm pleased that you were able to come by the shop to check out the basses and found one that you liked. I look forward to working with you in the future on a custom order someday. It is truly an awesome experience to help design a bass and watch it take shape. Enjoy your new bass!!! I have pics of it to share but I thought I'd let hrodbert696 show it off. for those of you that cant wait to see it, it is listed on my home page at Link Removed and more pics in the photo gallery.

Hey John! Hope all's well, still hitting myself for not getting that 32" Birdseye beauty that you made and I tried. One day I'll be back in the bass market and I'll definitely know who to look for. Really digging the new stuff though! Especially the designs you did on that 5-string Walnut build! Looks crazy awesome!

I appreciate that slapmachine. you really missed a good deal on that birdseye 32". It was a real nice player. I sold it last Christmas to a young bassist locally. He was really happy to get it. HAHA, He called me right after his first gig with it and said it performed flawlessly. I wish I knew who got some of the other basses I've sold. I sold them on consignment so I have no idea who got them. anyway, take care bro, keep in touch.

These are pretty nice, I might have to get one of these next time I'm feeling the itch for a custom bass.

I'm thinking for the body walnut wings with maple center strip, a sort of early Carl Thompson type shape, bolt on maple neck with a nice rosewood fingerboard, Bach Musik tremolo, straight headstock (because trems don't like angles)

I'm a P bass type of person, and I'm not one for radical designs, but I really like some of these. I've been planning a big bass purchase for the not-too-distant future, and I had been thinking of an American Precision, a Musicman, or a Rickenbacker, but at Mr. Toon's prices, there might well be a new option in mind...
