Unexpected NBD: Ibanez SR306

Found a lightly used Ibanez SR306 selling on eBay for almost a $100 less than the retail price. I was planning on getting this specific sixer eventually, and I was so hooked on the SR305 when I tried it out in a Guitar Center a few months ago that I was confident in making this purchase.

Really digging the light weight and how comfortable it plays while standing, and I'm very satisfied with the tones I can get. The lower horn digs a bit into my thigh while playing seated, but that's not a major problem. The only other issues I've had are just getting used to the wider neck and the extra string, which understandably is par for the course.

Now off to go practicing some rumbling lows and sweet highs!

Just bought the exact same bass and am really admiring it tone wise, and am having the same issue with the small radius body digging into my leg. I sewed up a small bean bag out of fake black leather (vinyl?) and I set that on my leg to spread out the pressure, works real good as I practice at least 5 hours/day (retired).

I'm also working on another solution made from bent 1/8 inch thick purpleheart I had lying around, that idea is so weird that I'll have to post pics when I'm done...

Sweet. They're a really nice bass. I'm the owner of 5 Ibanez 6s, 4 SRs and a BTB (and another on my 'want' list).
Welcome to the world of 6s, and Ibanez 6s in particular.
