Unknown Gibson model

Heya,long time lurker first time poster here!A friend of mine gave me his bass few days ago and I'm trying to identify what model it is ever since.Bass is in terrible shape and he said its pretty old,other than that I don't really know much.Thanks

Judging from the headstock, it's not a real Gibson but pics of the headstock are needed. Got any better pics? It looks like a copy/bass version of the Gibson Sonex line from the 70's.

Looks a lot like some old Kay basses I've seen, with some Eastern European traits mixed in. Anything that might indicate its country of origin?

Cheapo, probably Japanese. Not a Gibson by any means.

Dude, that bass is RAD. I would turn that into a monster! A Les Paul body with a jazz pick guard!

Nope,sadly nothing.

Hmmm... a Les Paul shape with a Jazz pick guard and control plate. Someone else was recently asking a similar question about a bass that looked similar but had a different bridge.



Ahh, yes. Here it is... This fellow was in Croatia.
