UNMARKED BASS KNOBS?!?!

Got myself a begginers #5 string bass BG CHG5 BK) Its got #4 silver knobs none of which are named or numbered.....ive tried practising tonight fiddling them around!!
Ones obviously volume cause without it sound goes down or flat....found another that makes the thinnest/guitar string sound slightly tripped out on the higher neck notes like a miniature wah wah ish) other #2 I just don't know?!?
It seems to help the sound be more full to have all knobs on at least half volume I do like loud sound mostly and ive got headphones on so no worry's there)
#1st time ive played on a bass amp as got guitar amp by mistake) Cldnt hear any tones from the guitar knobs Be4.....other than they were working to test!!)

Is this it?

I love the bass already man its awesome.... great strong sound so far for £102) too!! Looks heavy metal too lucky cause not many #5 strings in my £££ range to get a choice of)
Just a pain they didn't mark them....
Actually just presuming they would cause ive seen that on electric guitars?!? Maybe its not common

I'm gonna say the two top knobs are the volumes, with the tone knobs for them under them. That would just make sense.

You can take a small screwdriver (or any metalic object that a magnet will stick to) and touch to top of the pickups while you turn the knobs up and down - this will help you figure out which knob is the volume for which pickup (if you have two volume knobs) or if you have a blend knob it will help you figure out which knob is the blend and which direction selects which pickup. Once you have that worked out you can scratch your fingernail or pick on the strings while fiddling with the tone controls to figure out if you have passive tone for each pickup (passive tone will just reduce all the high frequency when turned counter clockwise) .... if you have a battery then you may have bass and treble boost and cut instead of passive tone - so then you would be figuring out which knob boosts/cuts the treble. Hope that makes sense

P.S. When you have one pickup (say the pickup closest to the neck) turned on full and then you turn up and down the other pickup (say the pickup closest to the bridge) it can sound a little like a wah wah because the two pickups accentuate some frequencies and cancel some other frequencies because of the spacing between them are picking up a different phase of the string vibration some harmonics in phase get accentuated and some out of phase get attenuated.
