That Ray looks killer. I've been really impressed by the stuff those guys are putting out. Great tone and feel for such a low price. Beautiful Family.

You have a J and a Ray ... IMO, you got it covered.

The funny thing is that the Yamaha sounds nothing like a J. It really is closer to a Cirrus/Ken Smith sort of sound.
It's funny, once I got the Ray35, it gave me Stingray/Sterling 5 GAS, but after I took my bass to rehearsal, I realized that unless I just wanted some fancy finish, there was absolutely no reason to go MIA. In terms of fit and finish, the Ray35 is easily on par with a Skyline 55-02. I guess that makes sense because they are made at the same factory!
