Upgrade pickups? Hmm

Well uh yea, I currently have a squier p/j special bass. The problem is my j pickup sounds muddy and way too much treble, and my p pickup sounds alright but it has no highs or mids practically. I also get a strange buzzing noise whenever I turn up my toning knob at all.

Would upgrading to these DiMarzio DPS pick ups be worth the price?

Or should I look for a better bass? (If I get one it'll be an SX or ebay)

Im on a $200 spending limit.

Jazz pickups are supposed to sound jazzy and muddy. If you want a clear sound, get EMG pickups.

I just put Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder's in my MIM P/J bass and they sound incredible. Both pickups would run you a little over 100 bucks, and believe me, they are worth every penny. I'm considering using this bass over my G&L L-2000 as my main gigging bass. YES, they sound that good.
