Upgrading Amp

Hi all, first time poster but love the forum :)

I am gigging a Kustom kba100, an ok amp but its about time to upgrade.

I have also recently acquired an Acoustic Model 116 combo which needs a new speaker cone and a good clean for starters. Does anybody know what these are like, reliability, tone, value etc? There is not a huge amount online about them.

I am looking at an ampeg ba115hp combo or a trace elliot gp12 combo, what are either of these like?

Feel free to make other amp suggestions

Thanks in advance

small pub gigs mostly, I need an amp that can be used for a lot of styles including rock, folk , jazz and everything in between, and it must sound good with a double bass, there is an ampeg for sale and the owner is accepting an offer for the kustom with €300 (about $400) his way, it looks tempting.

An Acoustic 116 is a small-ish combo that will sound a whole lot better than it has any right to sound. I have a 118, which is similar, and have used it for the kind of stuff you are planning to do, including with the upright. It won't be spectacularly loud, and if you overdrive it, it will clip and fart out, but it should be plenty adequate for smaller venues and music that doesn't require you to crack concrete.

They aren't particularly valuable, but they are bulletproof once you get them working right. By now, they suffer from the usual ails of age, namely tired caps and the occasional resistor that's ready to burn up, but that's pretty much it. I have been playing through Acoustic Control amps for about 30 years and have had very few problems.
