UPGRADING SQUIER BASS TIPS

I gave the same bass.

The only upgrades mine have is a better cap, 500k pots and QPs. Amazing tone. I love the hell outta that bass.

I agree. The problem with upgrading inexpensive basses is that the improvement is so subtle for the cost of the upgrade and it does nothing for the resale value. When you upgrade a squire, you're sure to suffer a loss when you resell it.

For the cost of upgrading, you could probably find an old Japanese Ibanez.

You can always remove the upgrades and replace with stock bits when and if it goes for sale.

Hi my bassist brothers- In getting back into the music world, I too purchased a GREAT Fender Squier JBass last year and i love it. Nothing will ever compare to my old Fender Jazz American Standard of course(long gone). BUT in upgrading to Seymour Duncan Quarter pounders I may be able to achieve sound qualities comparable to what my Jazz had~+?

I own 2 Squiers,a classic vibe 60's P and a vintage mod TB bass...On both I changed out to switchcraft pots and jacks, and changed out the tuners as well..I put wilkinson vintage tuners on the TB and actual Fender 57/62 reverse reissue tuners on the CV 60...I actually did an entire strip down and repaint on the TB w/ re ranch products..

But at the same time, if it feels god in your hands, plays nice and sounds good unplugged, I say go for it. It's your bass. Keep original parts for if you ever want to return it to stock before flipping it. I bought a Deluxe Active 5 for a spare. I love everything about it but the electronics. Major upgrade time- I installed a fabulous pre and will be dropping in some great pickups this week. A killer piece for under $600.
