Upright Bassists

Can't forget about Reggie Workman (Wayne Shorter's JuJu and Adam's Apple, John Coltrane Quartet, Art Blakey's Free For All) One of the best supporting players out there and a great soloist when given the opportunity.

Bob Cranshaw is another semi-unsung hero. I just picked up a copy of Bobby Hutcherson's album Happenings yesterday... really excellent album. Not to mention his other stuff with Blue Note (Inner Urge, The Sidewinder)
