Double Bass Upright Guy Looking For the Best Amp

Man since ive been reading this blog today i remembered the Acoustic Image amps and ran next door to Guitar Center and flipped my Geddy Lee 4 string Jazz bass for a Focus 2R Series III 800 Watt head. 2 channels, XLR or standard input, direct out, 6 studio quality effects and super lightweight at 5 lbs! i either have to move (again), get more gigs or stay off Talkbass ......$1,399 amp for a $875 bass

now what's the best small cab for an 800 watt bass head for upright................

Depends on what you want: If you wanna be rediculous LOUD to cut through the mix get a Schroeder 1212light. When you wanna have a smooth sound get two Epifani's 112 or one 212.
When playing in the open air without PA support I use the Schroeder and on all other occasions one or two Epi 112's.

In extreme conditions it's even possible to connect them all three to get the 2 ohm load on the amp and get the maximum volume out of it. Until now I never needed this much.

I prefer using a pa speaker / wedge
I'm using cheaper EV zlx 12in

A better option would be any of the powered QSC pa speakers

I played through the 8in qsc and it put out plenty of low end for a bluegrass group. The 12in model should handle anything you need it to
