Double Bass Upright on alt rock

hey guys my band Black Lady Soul (facebook.com/blackladysou) just put out our debut single. The song is based on an odd time upright bass groove i came up with and was wondering what TB thought! honest feedback on the actual line and the recording techniques (i recorded mic'd and direct through the double bass pickup) is much appreciated!

Very, very nice!!! Great sound overall, you let it breathe. Love that whammy guitar! I`ve been messing around with the idea of DB in some weirdo rock setting, since I come from drumset in a alt rock setting ( Weepikes, from Finland, Scandinavia ). You shurly do well, very musical stuff. The mandatory question: What strings and how did you record that? Rest of the stuff over drs and bass?

Thanks man! It was recorded in my guitar players basement studio that his dad built in the 90's lol. Old equipment but it ended up great IMO. We recorded the bass with a condenser mic and I also used a di from the piezo pick up, then mixed the two to taste
