The American health care system is JUST FINE, and the average American who understands that goods and services actually COST MONEY has no interest in socialized health care. As a media student i don't belive anything i read or see in the media untill i get inside info or science.

I haven't seen SiCKO, but if I recall correctly urgent care centers are under some form of obligation to take care of you if you show up.

I could be completely wrong here and I'm not sure where to look it up.

Well said, and those that dont have any money or medical plan get theirs paid for by us who do. What could possibley change with socialized healthcare ??? Either way, the haves pay for the have nots

Some how Sweden has made hospitals popup out of thin air. Sadly they are all being sold to private owners now, becouse of the republicans that won the election 2007.
If you got money you can go infront of people in the line now and the docktor & CO get less pay.

- I agree with previous posters, our media is very good at projecting mass hysteria where there is none. I think we're just mostly trying to get by, and the putzes with the really loud voices want everyone else to think otherwise.

EDIT: Oh right, the picture. No, healthcare isn't free around here. I had an operation on my foot in October that cost almost $20,000. If I didn't have insurance, I wouldn't have been able to pay it, and I wouldn't have had the operation. But if, say, I staggered into an emergency room with a gunshot wound in the chest, nobody's going to check my United Healthcare card. They're going to do everything in their power to save my life and worry about the other stuff later.

Long story short, the pic's pretty harsh, and definitely inaccurate.

Ok, true, we do have some problems, but as a whole, the American health care system is functioning and providing for the American people, and the problems that we do have to deal with would no be solved by socializing health care.

I think that people like to ignore the fact that in the grand scale of things the USA is a young country, we do have problems that need to be taken care of, however I would never want to live anywhere else..

I personally find that picture a little wrong, however some people might not.
