...The left wing aint as bad as people think. Lots of quality services for "free" with tax.

And this is the problem I have with the whole thing.

I don't know about you, but I appreciate having a choice when it comes to things like health care services (As an example). I seriously dislike the idea of the government telling me what sort of "service" I need and confiscating my hard-earned money in order to poorly provide that service. I'd much sooner pick and choose what sort of coverage I want, and pay my money to the company that offers me the best value. In fact, that's what I've been doing pretty much my entire adult life. Since private companies are driven by the market (if you don't provide a valuable service for a fair price, you go out of business) you will for the most part get a better quality of product than what you'll get with Government-funded services, as there is incentive for a monopoly to provide neither a good product nor a fair price. I work for the US Government, BTW.

Then don't even listen to your teacher.. I have been to Sweden it is a great country, but America is nowhere near as bad as your teacher has led you to think it is...

I think that people like to ignore the fact that in the grand scale of things the USA is a young country, we do have problems that need to be taken care of, however I would never want to live anywhere else..

I personally find that picture a little wrong, however some people might not.

I don't belive him at all, he makes usa sound like a place without any feelings at all..

"As a media student i don't belive anything i read or see in the media untill i get inside info or science."

so you come to a Bassists forum to get info on America as a whole?

LOL

Its the only big forum with lots of American people that i know or want to be a member of right now. If i would find sometype of "Off-topic only forum" i would be flamed for "1 post NOOB".

# Do the people of the US have any self-control?

As much as anyone else from any other country. Which is to say, very little.

# Do the people of the US like George Bush?

Personal feelings toward any politician, positive or negative, are always the sum of the mass of propaganda put out by a politician's supporters and his enemies.

# Are the people of the US scared?

The typical American is less scared of anything than people of nearly any other nationality. This is not necessarily a good thing.

# Are the people, and government, greedy?

All people and all governments are greedy

# Does the US government hate their own people.

The U.S. governement is MADE of their own people.

# USA has no sort of logic what so ever?

It has as much as anyone else. Humans are inherently emotional rather than logical.

# Why so much Canadian hate?

I don't know anyone who hates Canada. The premise of this question is false.

#Do the people of the US believe everything the media puts out?

The public veiw of the media, overall, is one of overwhelming distrust. In fact, our current president has much higher job approval numbers than the media does.

The docktor tells the goverment what treatment/service you will need to be all better again and the goverment supplies. Not the other way around.

I'm glad you don't. The US has it's problems, like all other places, but take a look at how many more people are trying to get in than get out. That should tell you that it's not such a bad place. :)
I'm not sure that's the greatest judge of how "good" a country is. Look how many people are trying to get into Chad from Sudan, it doesn't mean that Chad is a particularly great place! :D

PS. For the Americans, those places are in Africa. (I'll be here all week folks!) :D :D

Is that, like... Africa, Texas?:confused:

Heh, Heh... point taken, though I'm pretty sure you know what I meant. :)

As an aside, my grandparents lived in a place called Sudan, TX. In that context, the statement that "many people are trying to get into Chad from Sudan" takes on a whole new meaning! :p Poor Chad!

Please keep in mind that broad generalizations are ignorant of the many difference people that they may represent.

[/LIST]# Do the people of the US have any self-control?
This is too broad a question with no reference base. In general, I have found that I have had to teach myself to have more self control. In doing so I see that most people around me do not take time to think for themselves.

# Do the people of the US like George Bush?
I do not like Bush, or 99% of the politicians I have done much research on. Go Ron Paul!

# Are the people of the US scared?
Of recession, that the governemt (no me mind you, I was born here and because Sweden, Australia, New Zeland and many other will not take me as a refugee from a very sick and twisted government I am stuck here. Even Canada is hard to get into, I am currently trying, buy I do not have 15,000 in the bank, so no chance for me.)

# Are the people, and government, greedy?
Most of the people are that I know. Unions have been abused in my area so that fat middle aged men sit at a laith, sleep on the job, and make 50,000 a year.

did you really have to ask about the government?

# Does the US government hate their own people?
I do not thjink they hate us, they just don;t really care. The middle class is about to be squashed like a bug. Oh JOY!

# USA has no sort of logic what so ever?
Do not be so obtuse to think that the US government uses no logic. They do, however its not the logic they preach they use. Liberty, peace, freedom, and democracy all take a back seat to power and money.

# Why so much Canadian hate?
I want to move there. I see not canadian hate where I live.

#Do the people of the US believe everything the media puts out?
I believe very little. I do not watch the TV, have cable, or read many news papers. I do listen to swedish, deutch, BBC, and australian news stations.

# Do the people of the US have any self-control?
- As a group, less than they are prone to admit. As individuals, many have excellent self-control. However, the outlying examples are so extreme as to make it appear things are worse than they are. Weight control is one area where the self-control of US citizens can seriously be questioned.

# Do the people of the US like George Bush?
- Answers depend on personal opinion. I think most people find him to be a genuine, reasonably likable person - but an extremely poor president.

# Are the people of the US scared?
- Not really. they tend to worry too much about things of immediate personal interest to them, and not very much about larger, long-term issues.

# Are the people, and government, greedy?
- Not really. They act in their own self-interest, just as most people do. Elected officials tend to only act in terms of what it will take to get re-elected, which can easily be seen as a kind of personal greed.

# Does the US government hate their own people?
- No. the government is made up of peopl who do their best to serve the needs and interests of citizens. However, governmental communication on the large scale is absolutely terrible.

# USA has no sort of logic what so ever?
- If you get through the noise and chatter, Americans can be as logical and serious as any people. However, the basic assumptions Americans make are skewed by their form of government and the country's values, which may not appear to be logical to residents of other countries who operate under different cultural assumptions.

# Why so much Canadian hate?
- Wrong question. Americans like Canada and its people.

#Do the people of the US believe everything the media puts out?
- Of course not. However, there are idiots and gullible people everywhere, and we certainly have our share of them.
