For those of you looking to tryout LaBella Strings “SuperSteps” XL for their Cirrus 5, I was able to get LaBella to add the XL string option in the Super Steps, which have an exposed core ball-end design and measure 38”. It was odd that there was no selection in the drop-down selection menu on LaBella’s website, so I contacted them and they were very helpful in adding the selection to the menu on their website.
(These should not be used for string through-body mounting, in case you may be planning to try them on other basses.)
I also have been told by a reliable source that these were the favorite strings that Mike Porcaro used on his Cirrus basses.
Got mine ordered last night and to my pleasant surprise, LaBella already has shipped them via USPS as of posting.
Originally I had been told by LaBella to expect possibly as much as 2 weeks for them to ship as they had just added them back to the menu.
Apparently, it looks like they had some on hand to ship.
