use bass amp as sub?

I know I'm replying a bit late...I'm a techno-nerd, so whatever I own, I study the schematics, I remove amp chassis, I do measurements.

The Rumble 100 amplifier is on the weak side. The power transformer is nowhere near beefy enough to really be 100 watts. The heatsinking on the transistors isn't adequate, either.

However, Fender clearly knows this. There's a built-in limiter that prevents overdrive AND that limiter has temperature-sensing diodes in it. As the amp heats up, that limiting circuit will reduce the power, protecting the amp.

I don't think you'll like the sound..as the gig goes on, you'll get less and less out of it.

It doesn't have much low-end; the port in the cab isn't tuned particularly low.

Do you have those JBLs on a stand? Any chance of getting them closer to a back wall or the floor, to get some natural bass reinforcement?
