Found an old Fender Bassman 60 on marketplace for $70

Popped it open to fix some rattles and found a new Eminence legend CB158 inside! Not disappointed at all.

I increased the port length by a couple of inches to lower the tuning and it sounds pretty good, much more body and impact than my little two month old Rumble 40.

No replacement for displacement.

That's not where I thought this thread was gonna go! Sounds like win-win.

Back in the 1980s I had a 2nd-hand Moog Source synthesizer (because, 80s: every bass player needed to double -- or dabble -- on Moog basslines) and one day I noticed a metallic rattling sound when I picked it up. So I opened up the case, and a ~15" solid aluminum barbecue skewer fell out!
