So I wandered into GC today and they had a DNA DNS110 used for $340.
Never heard of them so I grabbed a Markbass head and a jazz bass and checked it out.
It sounded huge!! At first I thought it was a 210 based on what I was hearing. Figured it was like those Orange cabs with one speaker facing front, and another hidden inside, facing I don't know where. So I was really considering grabbing it, until I saw the model # on the tag and concluded it was only a 110.
4 ohms, and, based on the backplate, capable of 1,400 W (that seems absurd).
Anyway - I left without it, but might go back. I have a few odds and ends lying around I could bring to them, figuring I could leave there with it for about $100 out of pocket.
My question to any and all who know this cab (or have related experience) -
Can a 110 handle a blues jam at a small club?? Almost always 2 gtrs, bass, drums, vox, and the occasional sax. They are very conscious of volume, but it does get rocking from time to time.
Am I asking for trouble?
I was asked to fill in for the house bass player this Thurs, so I'll be supplying the rig. Amp would be my GB Neopak 3.5. Could this little cab deal?? Sure sounded that way in GC today. Or would I be better off bringing my very mediocre Carvin RL210?
