This is going to sound stupidly complicated, and pointless. Please bear with me.
I currently use an unpowered EHX Big Muff to take advantage of the two outputs to split a signal in two directions (basically to make a dedicated tuner output). It's positioned behind a Boss LS2.
The LS2 sends one loop into the BBM, splits, then one immediately comes back into the LS2 loop. The other goes onto do stuff. I understand this works because the LS2's buffer gives enough signal strength to make the magic happen.
Can I replace this by simply using a Y cable to split the signal immediately upon leaving the LS2 loop output?
IE, have one leg of the Y just loop back into the LS2 and the other leg go onto do stuff? Or is there something happening inside the unpowered BBM that I don't know about that makes it currently work? Does length of the cable legs make a difference?
