using a y connector

If you make your own y cable out of two speaker cables, it works fine.

I've been doing it for 15 years off my 70's SVT.

Assuming the person making the cable does it properly ...

another approach is to create a junction box with 3 jacks, 1 IN and 2 out that are in parallel. Downside is the 3 cables. Up side is that the connections can be a beefier than what you can get into a standard .25" cable housing ...

Double true dat.

I like the custom Y-cable 'cause it's one less thing to lose. But if I lose that Y-cable, I'm HOSED! Maybe I should make a little junction box and throw it in my case too. That way I'd have to lose BOTH to be hosed.
