Using photos as band logos

I may be wrong here, but dont copyright laws only apply for a specified number of years..? So if the statue is older than that time limit, its image becomes public domain anyway... not sure if thats right or not but it might be worth looking into...

Unfortunately, it's a new statue. The mall was built only a few years ago.

The singer/group leader was inspired by an old photograph. We might want to check out the copyright laws on that...We might want to make a logo out of that too. Thanks for the heads up.
