Using two micro VR stacks for stereo output

Would that be better than one head running both the 210 cabs? I have a chance to buy a stack but I already have one, just want the second cab for more volume but the seller doesn't want to split it. I have some source audio pedals with stereo output so maybe this could be a cool more portable rig? Or silly..

It will work as a dual mono set up, but there could be issues with phase cancellation/comb filtering that could make it less than a good solution.
If you could do it, the best option would be to try it out and see if it does what you are hoping for.

I've had great success with several 2 head and 2 combo setups. Lots of headroom and things generally sound more substantial with the 2. Plus it looks cool in my opinion ;-)

That looks super cool! One question for people who use the stack with 2 210s: do you think that would be loud enough for gigging in my metal band? I'd love to get rid of the heavy old 410..

Thanks John...I just use an old-school splitter coming out of the last pedal on my board.

A single Micro vr with 2 210s, at 250w will probably not be enough without FOH support. Also, the 210s do not handle sub frequencies well (I use a meatbox on some songs).

All other things equal a pair of 2x10s should produce the same volume as a single 4x10, but has the advantage of getting some speakers up closer to your ears so you can hear yourself better in the mix. Also, many of us would prefer to schlep two lighter cabs than one beast.

I have a couple of rigs comprising a pair of vertically stacked 2x10s, each driven by a 500-watt SS amp, and I have more headroom than I know what to do with. I wouldn't want anything bigger/louder because I wouldn't want to be in a band that played so loud that I needed it. However, I'm not sure a 100-watt amp would be adequate in a metal band.

I’m not sure those cabs are really designed for high volume metal, though I could be wrong. I’ve had some 2x10 cabs that were nearly the size of 4x10 cabs that could do the job when stacked vertical. Big heavy cabs though.

Wouldn't it be easier to go from Effects Loop Send on one amp to Effects Loop Receive on the second amp?
