Using Zoom H or F Series recorder as a USB audio interface

So I've started experimenting with the F8 as an audio interface. Had to download three drivers from Zoom's site and install those on my Windows 10 PC. The F8 allows the option in USB mode to sum all of the F8's eight inputs into one stereo feed for streaming (main goal) or parse the inputs into separate files for recording with the DAW. So far so good.

However, the F8 in USB interface mode defaults to a sample rate of 44.1 Khz and a bit depth of 16. I have configured the F8 to defaults to 48 Khz / 24 bit depth in normal operating mode. When it's in USB interface mode, there does not appear to be a menu option to support changing 44.1/16 to 48/24.

Any of you F8 experts have advice for configuring this the way I want? I've scoured a bunch of sites / docs looking for directions but have come up empty. Sent a message to Zoom America but who knows what that will produce.

FWIW, the point of this exercise is to give me the option of using three microphones on my double bass and a fourth lapel mic for voice -- all for use on Jamkazam for playing live with other musicians. I'm part way there, just want to implement a higher level of fidelity to the signal.

P.S. The ability of the F8 to be a USB audio interface also works with the Zoom F4 and H6. Drivers are the same. So if you have one of those devices, this exercise might also be of interest. I've also got a FocusRite Solo, but it has just one XLR and one 1/4 jack inputs. Putting existing gear to work without buying something new!

Got a response back from Zoom support on controlling the sample rate in USB controller mode. I had mentioned owning H6 and H8 models, so the response said:

"When using the Zoom ASIO driver, the H6 or F8 will automatically adjust the sample rate according to your software settings (ie: if you adjust the sample rate to 48kHz in your software, the F8 should change sample rate automatically)."​

I used the Windows 10 menu for editing the Zoom ASIO driver controlling inputs of the stereo signal into the PC. It works! The F8's USB controller sample rate indicator automatically switched from 44.1 to 48kHz.

All the H series and F series recorders from Zoom use the same drivers to operate the device as a USB audio controller. Only functional difference is total number of available channels. Nice having this capability included for no extra cost!
