USPS And Amazon Prime

Preferential treatment, eh? Wish I could negotiate a contract like they have with UPS and USPS for shipping my motorcycle parts.
I drive by one of Amazon's many Fulfillment Centers in the area and it is not uncommon to see a line of thirty Amazon vans at the street light a few blocks away.

That is just one small hub of many they have around my general area.
Imagine nation wide?

Are you able to fill over thirty trucks a day in multiple locations around most major cities?

That is why they get shipment deals. The volume is tremendous and their customers demand their items fast so they make it happen.
They are a profit by volume operation.

Amazon just bought 11 planes to help handle the volume of packages and customer demand.
