That bass is HAAAWWWTTTTTT. Dig the matching headstock and those pickups are sweet. Also dig your playing and the tone of that bass. You have yourself an winner there. If I can save up the cash and sell some stuff I may have to give Nino a call. I am becoming a bigger fan of Mr. Valenti with each bass I see.

I'll just answer everyones questions so far in one post, bit easier to type up that way.

I'm very curious to know how it compares to your DJ5. Playing mine last night, I was thinking how the last bass I enjoyed playing as much was the Valenti sliver J.

Smash, I actually prefer it to the DJ5 - its lighter, the neck is a bit easier on my hands and it's got a bit more clarity than the DJ5. I ended actually selling my DJ5 after getting this, and getting a DJ4 to replace it.

Does anyone else see a "great bass - ugly carpet" trend here in talk bass??

For sure, that was taken in the bassment which is the one area of the house we haven't redone yet since moving in nearly 5 years ago. That carpet will be first against the wall when the carpet revolution comes.

Wait, is that a compliment or not In all seriousness, I found out a year or so ago that my shallow visual tastes mean I can only keep Jazz basses when they have blocks/binding and matching headstock.

I love it, may I ask how much it set you back?

Undecided though my Valenti #020 seems to be a tonal chameleon.
