No offense, but even you said in you first post that it looks like you are knocking Sadowksy and Nino.

And that first post exactly proves what I've been saying. I know it sounds like I'm knocking but I'm not, that's not my intention. That's why I put the disclaimer. Had anyone read that and believe it this whole arguement would have been avoided. but I believe it's over now and I think this has been a great discussion.

With all due respect Peter, the thread asked how the two brands compared. It didnt ask how easy it is to make a "kit bass" or "how the wheels are going to come off the Sadowsky mystique". You initiated this aspect of the thread. You cant be surprised that many of us would jump down your throat and say what we've said. I think a newbie was looking for some knowledge and you derailed it. Most of this thread revolves around a bunch of us going back and forth trying to validate what we have argued, not comparing the two brands. You are responsible for the thread arriving here.

Wow. What a thread. I'm one of the biggest Sadowsky nuts on the planet. I own 5. On the other hand, I consider Nino a friend and would love to get a bass from him just because I like him so much!! Im sure sometime soon I will. I prefer Sadowsky's. I think his 4 string neck feels better than any neck out there. I think Roger's preamp and pickups are the best combination on the planet. I love the finishes, fretwork, setup, shape of the headstock, you name it. The first time I played one was the last time I wanted anything other than a Sadowsky

All that being said, a Valenti bass is outstanding. Fit, finish, fretwork, etc. Lots of options, colors, etc

A kit bass? I guess. I still dont understand why many seem to think that a bass handcarved would better get the job done than a CNC'd bass. The bottom line is how does it sound, feel, play. I dont care is Roger, Nino, Dan Lakin, etc get there woods from the dumpster. What they create ultimately is a remarkable instrument that sounds like a million dollars. Thats all that matters.

Easy to bolt one together? Sure. I made a Warmoth bass a couple years back. Beautiful finish, used the best hardware available, even used a Sadowsky pre and pickups. It was not a good bass. Was acoustically dead. Sold it pretty quickly.

I find it a disgrace to just discount the years and years guys like Roger, Nino, etc have invested and just say "anyone can do it" Yea, I guess anyone can. I was one who thought I could. My guitar player buddy was another. Trust me, you dont want to buy one of his Strats or Tele's!!!

Lets give credit where credit is due.

Bottom line is alot of us prefer a Bolt on bass. Many of us like the way it sounds. I do not like set necks, neckthoughs, etc.

Im a rocker and prefer the look of a Fender type instrument on stage!!

Handcarved does not equal better. It equals different and I say "no thanks". I'll take one of my 8lb Sadowskys, turn up my amp, and rip you head off. Thats what matters. You've gotta like what you have in your hands. If you dont, you've got the wrong thing in your hands.

Long live patient, meticulous people like Nino, Roger, Etc. The next time you run into one of them, shake their hand and thank them for the hard work, sweat, and attention to detail.

No I'm aware what the thread was about. I placed the disclaimer so no one would think I'm bashing Sadowsky or Nino's abilities trying to incite flames. I liked the direction the thread went for the most part because it was much more interesting than where it would have gone had it stayed completely on topic. What I didn't like but should have expected considering this is TB was how angry people got based on not really reading what I said but reading into what I said. People continued to tell me what I really meant after I repeatedly stated where I was truly coming from. A few got it completely others missed it. Most folks on this board seem too emotional about certain subjects to be truly objective. Again though, this was a great thread. Much better than most.

That being said, yes. Nino's work does hold up against Sadowsky basses. It should. He works for Roger and probably has learned a thing or two from the master.

If he paid attention and kept reading I believe he did learn something. Nino has some strong supporters much like Sadowsky so he's doing something right. I think that says a lot. Yeah they sound a little different and feel a little but they're pretty close, and both good.

It's a jazz, but it has a lot more going on in the tone dept. I bought it without playing a Valenti first, which is pretty much against my personal rules, but I couldn't be happier with it.

Oh man...I think I've found my next bass. I love that black stain that's carried over to the headstock. I have to keep this one in mind as I save up.

Well. . . it's good to see that this got more or less back on track. I stopped reading somewhere on page 4 . I nearly bought AJ's PJ back during the summer. Maybe you can comment on this (publicly), Nino, although you may have elsewhere so if it's redundant, I apologize. Heck, it may be imbedded in the thread train wreckage . Are the USACG necks more comparable in feel to the Sadowsky necks because of the different profile? I've heard that the Warmoths tend to feel more like a Fender, and the USACG's like a Sadowsky. The basses look great, man, can't wait to try one out fo' myself!

I can personally attest that the feel of the USACG necks is *VERY* close to that of a Sadowsky. The profile feels nearly identical. Warmoths will feel chunky in a side-by-side comparison.
