Validation of "Blues at Sunset - Albert King

I can't find any recordings where I can clearly pick out the base chords for this song. The guitar music I picked up gives it a standard I-IV-V pattern in G. Is this correct for bass? Do I need to tune down? Anyone have the correct bass line?

Basic riff is:

E|1---------5-----------5-|

You can play the A as the open A if you'd like, but I like the meatier sound of fretting it, plus then you can slide into it now and then to grease it up a little.
