Double Bass van zalinge z bass

I tried an electric upright today in a music store. It was basically a DB with no real body. I find a lot of electric double basses dont have the feel of a double bass but this did. It was also a reasonable price.
has anyone heard of Z basses? ( i did a search but the letter Z doesnt work because it is only one letter)

Hi.. I got a van Zalinge EUB bass frpm the 80ies. I´m looking for a SBX bass T-bass but i cant find it here in sweden. They made them in USA.
I also got a hard case to my van Salinge..

Best known user is Sting, but even the mighty NHOP endorsed it, although I doubt he ever used it onstage.

I'm doing historical research on the van Zalinge basses and would like help from anyone who uses or used these instruments. Some facts (with gratitude to Daan, Wouter and Sting's tech Danny): the first basses (about 20) were handmade between 1971-1980, these are called "van Zalinge bas". NHOP got one in 1975 and he used it live and even on a recording with Toots Thielemans. Oscar Peterson however did not want him to use it on stage. Sting bought one while recording the Police's "Zenyatta Mondatta" in 1980. Between '80-'84 there was a larger batch of 'factory'-made instruments that are refered to as "Z-bass" Anyone who knows anything about them can contact me. It would be nice to put together a complete and accurate history of these great basses!
