Thanks for the links..still a "newbie" navigating the site..will hopefully get better as time goes on...
The question is probably moot now anyway,as I have just purchased an EUB that was described as a Z Bass,but,after looking at the picture of Sting and his machine..I would guess that it is not.
2 things..I don't mind that it's not..I'm still very keen to receive this new family member and see how it sounds,and find out what needs to be done,
and,also..from what I understand..Z Basses (Van Zalinge) were manufactured in small numbers (250??) in the 1950s and 1960s??
The instrument that Sting is playing looks far too modern to be of that era.
The Bass that I have just purchased seems much more in keeping with that era,designwise, et al.
I will post photos of this instrument when I receive it.Perhaps one of the members with more experience than I will be able to help with a maker or take a guess at it's origins
