Venting anger/dissapointment ...

Never posted my own thread on talkbass but here goes :hiding: ...

Well I recently made the decision to upgrade my 4 string peavey millenium, to a 5 string as I like to play a lot of progessive rock/metal, so after various research I came to the conclusion that I wanted an Ibanez SR605. So I went to my local music shop and placed an order (also with a deposit). However, I was unaware that Ibanez had actually recalled all the non - 2010 models, the man in the shop failed to tell me this, so as advertised in their shop, I went ahead and ordered the bass which I thought was the model that had already released. So anyway, I placed my order, expecting my new bass to arrive in the shop in roughly a week as it was a 'special order'. After a week has gone by and no contact I decide to call them, the guy in the shop doesn't know why it hasn't arrived so decides to ring around. 10 minutes later he rings me back and NOW decides to tell me that Ibanez have recalled all the old models and that they won't expect a first delivery in the UK until June. Now I have to wait a further week to get my deposit back, am annoyed at the fact that noone at the shop decided to tell me that their stock had been recalled, and have to wait until June for the bass I had my heart set on :( :bawl:. I'm not upset that I have to wait until June because I really want this particular bass, but the fact noone enlightened me as to what was happening with stock, kinda annoys me.

Anyone have any similar stories they'd like to share? :help:

Luke.

I rang two other music stores in my area and they said the same thing though :hmm:, Because I live in the UK the SR605 is kinda hard to get hold off anyway because as far as I'm aware it's only a US model :(. As I outlined in the previous post, I'm not annoyed at the waiting, just the fact that they didn't tell me what was going on with their stock after getting my hopes up :rollno:

Mine was a case of "hurry up and wait" for a Ricky 4003. This is common with any model Rick, if you want a new one. But it is very annoying. I waited almost 20 months for a standard JetGlo!

I would order from the US if I could a find a website that shipped that model to the UK :( , But the reason why I tried so hard to get it locally is because I really don't trust the couriers and I don't want to have it shipped all the way from the US only to find it broke :( (worse case scenario of course :p).
