What are the options to play this passage, please? Across the strings is within reach, but along the string is also good..? (up to the 1 bar rest)

Across the strings keeps fingers closer to the strings with small shifts or extensions. Even so the short notes are fast and hard to articulate clearly in unison with the other strings. By using shorter bow strokes the accents can be placed accurately.

It is a fabulous overture !!

Start all of them with 4 on the D string til the D# and use 3 for that.
