Verdine can play. He just sometiems doesn't, focussing on his choreography. That simple.

There was a period where he stopped playing for the sake of theatrics. He is now playing again and not dancing around so much. He's not a spring chicken, you know. I saw EWF/Chicago last September and he was definitely playing live.
This bass sounds so freaking good.
