Verdine White on a Peavey and really playing!

Nice clip. Thank you for that.

I must say that I am a bit surprised that he can't keep his eye from the neck. Fairly simple songs that he must have played thousands of times.

He's still one of my heroes though.

Given that he sings backup live, he probably does not have to look at the neck much. He may have been concentrating on hitting right notes for the instructional video.

Just mount this to the bass with double stick tape and keep moving:

Maybe he picked it up from Jeff Andrews?

Whoa. Bro tore it up -- very present tone, too. I also dug that the guitar gave him some harmonic support -- too often, when the bass player solos, either people don't get out of the way or they take an opportunity to get a drink (see how you like it if I stop playing while you solo!). The finger-licking, though -- I've never noticed someone doing that, before. I find it just slightly gross (or, if I hand you my bass, or play yours and your saliva is on the strings, really gross), but am now oddly curious to see if it somehow enhances my plucking speed.

Or maybe I'll have to try some SportKwik -- don't want to become dependent on it, though. What if I have to play and find that I've forgotten it at home?
