Vertical cab stacking---the only way to play

I've just purchased this very powerful combo, and was wondering if setting it on it's side VERTICALLY would make a difference in it's overall sound and output?

BTW, if you REALLY want to hear what your amp sounds like to the crowd, tilt it back as well as the vertical thing. That puts the actual sound of the cab as the audience hears it in your ear and gives you a nice rumble from the floor.

Jimmy, thanks for the tip. I have a gig tomorrow night and I will try my amp on it's side and see if I HEAR a difference. I will report my findings as soon as I'm vertical the next day.:o

Well it's official, it did make a difference, and I had a few musician friends at the gig last night comment on the fact they could hear a definite difference. Not to mention that this little amp kicks some serious A@#!!!

Makes you wonder why vertical 2x10 combo aren't the rule instead of the exception? Saw this one reviewed on Fitz's forum, if I wanted a one piece this would be it.

Is it better to have a stack of multiple speakers with one at head level firing parallel to the floor or one (or more) cabs/speakers firing parallel to the floor and one firing perpendicular to the floor. Phil Jones uses this concept in his Flightcase combo and I think someone else on this thread used a similar concept (Markbass on a milk crate and extension speaker)? Or is this six of one and half a dozen of the other?
