Vertical stack / dispersion question

Another question has come up...

When vertically stacking a 210 on top of a 115, does it matter whether or not the 15 is lined-up on the same vertical axis as the 10s? In other words, should the center of all three cones be lined up vertically for the best results?
i absolutely believe it should. for a month or two, i was using a 112/115 stack, and if i moved the 112 even slightly off center to the 115, i could hear it not sounding as good by comparison, and i'm talking even if it was off by a half inch.

I have 2x10 and1x15 ampeg svt cabs. The 2x10 is set horizontally. Am I to understand that I should place it on its side so that all the speakers are on the same vertical axis? I've not noticed any phasing or volume loss on particular notes.

Well, perhaps you have heard phasing issues, but don't have anything to compare it with, or you LIKE the way those particular cabinets interact to cut some frequencies and boost others. It's really really simple to compare them. Try it with the 2x10 set vertically in-line with the 1x15. Go walk around the rig (a wireless helps, but you can learn a lot just using a long cord) while playing, or even better someone else playing so you can get out about 25 or 30 feet. Walk all around the rig, then try it the "normal" way.

Does the staggering in an NV610 mean it behaves like two stacks of 3x10, instead of 3 stacks of 2x10? So, will the NV610 have better horizontal dispersion than another 6x10 without the staggering?

I'm assuming it also has to do with reducing the width of the cabinet...

Staggering is better than side by side, but not as good as vertical.
