vespa/scooter + gigbag = ???

does anyone here ride a scooter (or motorcycle, i guess) and have any success lugging a gigbag?

i feel like i've heard people mention it... but who knows where i get these ideas.

long story short- i'm thinking about buying a scooter, or any other fuel-efficient whip, and if i could use it to get to my teaching jobs (all i need is a gigbag) i could use it any time the weather permits and stop spending $60 on gas every week.

I see it all the time here in Japan, on scooters, motorcycles and bicycles. Just need to find one that will hang well while sitting on a seat.

I ride my chopper with my bass on my back in its gig bag. It's not so bad. Given my low seating position the bottom of the bass/bag sits on the passenger seat so that it pushes the bag up a bit, but it's do-able.
I've seen pics of people on m/c's wearing their gig bag upside down (with the head stock pointed downwards) so that the head/neck pass to the side of the seat. I've never tried it, but it looks reasonable.

I see people with lil trailers for their two wheelers often , room for an amp and small cab too.

that bike looks a lot cooler than the 150-250 cc scooters i'm looking at.

what would be even cooler is one with room for my minimark... it's pretty tiny... so i woulden't be surprised if there was a reasonable way to lug it on a bike.

I've got a Ministar bass that bungee chords on top of my right saddlebag, against the seat, and up along under my thigh on my BMW R1200RT, and I used to take it to jam nights all the time that way. Never tried it with a real bass, though.

But I always wondered about taking the saddlebag off on one side and rigging up some sort of mount for a gig bag, with the body where the saddlebag would be, and the neck sticking up and to the rear.
