Great player, but I've never been a fan of his tone - a little overly "modern" and clanky for my taste. Would love to hear him on a '62 Jazz through an SVT.![]()
So, why are you waiting?Still waiting on that video of you doing it perfectly clean...
I don't slap because it sounds like crap, and i don't play above my own skill..
everyone sounds a little sloppy sometimes.....we're humans. but if you put victor in the "sloppy" category of bassists you are an idiot or very uneducated on the matter. no offense.![]()

If you don't challenge yourself you don't learn to be creative. We grow from trying new techniques and notes. Sometime we make mistakes, but mistakes are opportunities to learn as we turn mistakes into good notes. If you can't hear that he is sloppy then you gotta start doing eartraining excercises..
Victor Wooten is incredible. As a musician and a person. His music is wonderful, he has such talent as a player and a technician. He always knows what the song needs, and consistently delivers.
You can keep your Stings and other root note thumpers, Victor Wooten has all that and more!![]()

Victor wooten? (rolleyes)
He can't play clean to save his life, always sloppy ugly sounding double-thumping played twice as fast as he can handle and all the noobs who worship flea thinks he's a god..
He can't write good music to save his life either..
Listen to some real bassplayers instead, sting, mccartney, rutger gunnarson etc..
