Victor Wooten ... the new Mister Rogers

Ok, here me out, watch this first:




The way Victor Wooten speaks - his tone of voice, his vocal inflections, his subject matter - they are all very similar to Mister Rogers.

For a second example, watch this Hartke demo by Victor:



He comes across as very calming and patient - just like Rogers did.

Seriously, if they ever reboot Mister Rogers Neighborhood, they should get Victor to play the role of Mr Rogers.

Think about it, he can bring his positive message to kids and give the show a totally new injection of music and new modern characters.

The more I think about this the more excited I get. Let's do this TalkBass! Let's kickstart Mr Wooten's Neighborhood!

Yeah Mr Rogers had the piano, Wooten could do the bass and play a kickass outro similar to the piano outro on Mr Rogers. I saw him with Bela Fleck about 20 years ago, 2nd row in front of him. Chops out of this world of course, but at the same time he didn't come across as full of himself.

Certainly would be nice to have that show brought back similar to the original, for a new generation. Anything would be better than what they did, they took bits and pieces and made it into another PBS toddlers cartoon, Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood.

I love the SNL version and so does my daughter. Mr Rogers supposedly liked it too, only because it was on when most kids were supposed to be asleep.
