I have had this crazy notion for a while that I need to add a "birth year" bass to my arsenal. I was born in 1965. So, something around 10k is the entry fee. At one point, I had a 71 Jazz and it was a dog, in every sense of the word. Loose neck pocket, wouldn't stay in tune, generally abused. I unloaded it shortly after. I got to play Mike Lull's personal 1965 Precision in 2019. It was nice and I would've bought it, but it was not for sale. Then I look at my own collection and I realize, damn near every one of them is better than any vintage bass I could play or own and I already own these! So, my search is really over.
