Vintage Hagstroms

This bass is indeed a Hagstrom "Jazzbass". Production records show it as having been made in 1977 in production run 988 which produced 75 of them. This one was the 15th Jazzbass made in that run.

This model was renamed Scanbass after Fender threatened litigation against Hagstrom claiming they owned the rights to the name "Jazz Bass" back then.

still plays great! Serial # is 658097

Actually Hagstrom changed the name from Jazzbass to Scanbass in late 1977.

You're correct Tom, it was made in late 66 or 67. I can tell you that it was the 97th Coronado IV built in production run 658 which produced 274 of them.
