Two darkstars will multiply the cost of this Squier by 3x ...

squier = 200 $
darkstars = 350 $

squier + darkstars = 200+350 = 550 $

so, the squier still costs the same

How do you like it? I was thinking of something like that as well.

Several years ago I wanted to do that too but wound up forgoing the mudbucker and doing this instead.

I have one of these basses and the stock pickup is louder than my 18V active Bongo was. VERY hot output and VERY muddy/bottomy. Personally, I think 2 of these pickups would sound like a muddy mess.

I would vote for a J or P PU, not 2 mudbuckers. Just my $0.02.

a "Electro Socket" input jack. The Jazz pup is from a Fender Aerodyne Jazz bass. It really sounds good in this guitar and blends very well with the bucker. I recently changed the neck to a Jazz neck with a tele headstock trim and added a high mass bridge. All in all a very nice bass.

Well, the project is starting: this Squier TB is now mine, it is used but in good condition:

At first, I will add one additional pickup and let the original Fender'bucker as is.

Here is an after-market mudbucker from "Artec".
The coils are huge!
